2. About this notice and our store
This notice identifies the website operator and explains the legal information relevant to use of this website. Our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy provide the specific conditions applying to purchases. Mandatory consumer rights prevail over any conflicting provision.
Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify provides the commerce platform through which we offer products and process orders. It also processes personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Where you purchase a Wood Nest product through a marketplace, the seller identification, order information and applicable platform terms shown for that transaction must also be consulted. This notice does not replace the marketplace's own legal notices.
3. Website content and intellectual property
Our original text, product designs, photographs, graphics and other protected materials belong to Wood Nest's operating company or are used with permission from their respective rights holders. Third-party brands, customer reviews and submitted content remain subject to the rights of their owners.
You may browse this website and retain information needed for your purchase or the exercise of your rights. Uses permitted by applicable copyright law remain allowed. Other reproduction, commercial reuse, modification or distribution of protected materials requires permission from the relevant rights holder.
When submitting personalisation content, please ensure that you have the rights or permission needed for us to reproduce it on your product. Providing content for production does not automatically authorise us to use it in advertising. We may request clarification or decline content that we cannot lawfully reproduce.
Do not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code or interfere with its operation. Report suspected security issues or intellectual property concerns to support@woodnest.co.
4. Product information, prices and natural variations
We aim to provide accurate product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, prices and availability. The product description and order details identify the characteristics agreed for your purchase.
Wood and cork may vary in grain, texture and tone. Screen settings can also affect colour appearance. Minor variations inherent in the materials or production process do not remove our obligation to supply goods that match the agreed description, quality and applicable conformity requirements. A material difference or manufacturing fault is not automatically an acceptable natural variation.
Prices, applicable taxes, delivery charges and any other payable amounts must be communicated as required before you place your order. Tax treatment and any import formalities depend on the destination and the terms disclosed for that purchase.
If we identify an error affecting your order, we will contact you and explain the available options. We will not impose a higher price without your agreement. Any cancellation or correction will respect the contract and applicable consumer law; amounts due back to you will be refunded accordingly.
5. Product use and safety
Our decorative products are intended for their stated decorative purpose and are not intended as toys. Follow the product-specific installation, care and safety instructions supplied with the item.
Keep small components and packaging away from young children. Wall-mounted items must be secured using a method suitable for the product, wall surface and load. If you are unsure about installation or appropriate fixings, seek qualified assistance before mounting the item.
Product-specific warnings and information take precedence over general guidance on this page. If an item or fixing appears damaged, loose or unsafe, stop using it and contact support@woodnest.co with the product details and, where available, your order number.
These instructions do not exclude our responsibilities for product safety, inadequate instructions or defective goods under applicable law.
6. Consumer rights, returns and guarantees
Statutory withdrawal: for eligible online purchases governed by Portuguese consumer law, you normally have 14 calendar days from taking physical possession of the goods to notify us of your decision to withdraw, without giving a reason. Special delivery arrangements may affect when that period starts. The return procedure and applicable costs are explained in our Return and Refund Policy.
Personalised goods: the statutory withdrawal right generally does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, where the legal exception applies. Producing a standard item only after an order is placed does not, by itself, establish that exception. This restriction does not remove your rights if the item is defective, damaged or otherwise non-conforming.
Legal conformity guarantee: under Portuguese Decree-Law No. 84/2021, the seller is responsible for a lack of conformity in new movable goods that becomes apparent within three years of delivery, subject to the applicable legal rules. Remedies include repair or replacement, and price reduction or termination of the contract where the legal conditions are met. Necessary remedies are provided without charge as required by law.
Additional benefits: any advertised commercial guarantee or extended return period applies according to the terms provided for the purchase and supplements your statutory rights. It does not replace or reduce them.
Customers outside Portugal: mandatory consumer protections applicable to your purchase remain unaffected, including those in your country of habitual residence where relevant. Withdrawal rules, guarantees and claim periods differ between jurisdictions; this notice does not impose a universal two-year limit or require you to waive local rights.
7. Website availability and responsibility
We take reasonable care in operating the website, but access may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, technical problems or events beyond our reasonable control. External links lead to services operated by third parties, whose own terms and notices apply.
Responsibility for any loss is determined by applicable law and the circumstances. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable obligations relating to defective products, personal injury, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal data or consumer rights.
Website errors, third-party involvement or misuse of a product do not automatically remove responsibilities imposed on us by law.
8. Complaints and alternative dispute resolution
For a complaint about a product or order, contact support@woodnest.co. Include your order number, a description of the issue and relevant photographs where useful. We will review the matter and explain the next steps. Contacting us does not prevent you from exercising statutory complaint or legal rights.
Electronic Complaints Book: you can access Portugal's Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico to submit a complaint through the official platform.
Alternative dispute resolution in Portugal: consumers may refer eligible disputes to the competent consumer arbitration centre. CNIACC acts in areas not covered by another competent consumer dispute resolution entity, subject to its territorial, subject-matter and financial jurisdiction.

Where Portuguese law makes arbitration or mediation applicable at the consumer's option, those rights are respected. Naming a centre here does not represent a claim of voluntary membership or exclusive jurisdiction.
Information about other recognised European bodies is available in the European Commission's directory of alternative dispute resolution bodies.
9. Privacy and electronic communications
Our Privacy Policy explains the personal information we process, the purposes and legal bases, service providers, international processing, retention criteria and your rights.
Shopify processes information when you visit or purchase from our store, including for enhanced services based on interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. Information may be shared with Shopify and other providers in other countries, subject to the applicable protections and choices described in our Privacy Policy.
Optional marketing and tracking are subject to the permissions required by law. Visiting the website or reading this notice does not, by itself, constitute consent to marketing or non-essential tracking.
10. Applicable law and updates
Portuguese law governs this notice, subject to the mandatory protections and conflict-of-law rules applicable to your situation. Consumers retain any protection afforded by mandatory law in their country of habitual residence where applicable.
Jurisdiction is determined by the applicable rules. Nothing in this notice requires a consumer to bring proceedings exclusively in Portugal where the law permits proceedings elsewhere, or removes access to competent dispute resolution bodies.
We may update this notice to reflect changes in our business or legal obligations. Updates do not retrospectively change agreed purchases or remove rights already acquired. Continued browsing does not, by itself, constitute acceptance of new contractual obligations or consent to new processing of personal information.
